Marie Köhler is a photographer and media artist from Cologne. In the master's degree course in photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund, she initiated collaborations with local organizations, artists, children and young people from Burkina Faso, Rwanda, the DR Congo and Germany. Her project "Mach dir ein Bild" (since 2012) enables children and young people to distance themselves from the reality of their lives and explore it through the camera lens in a reflective manner.

Frederike Wetzels
Frederike Wetzels is a portrait and fashion photographer from Cologne. She worked for several years as picture editor and art director at the music magazine Intro. She has portrayed many artists and has also realised various fashion shoots for editorial and commercial clients. Wild effects and colourful lights, bright colours and garish make-up meet an unusual softness.

Verena Günther
Verena Günther studied at the Ecole supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Liège and works as a freelance photographer and photography teacher in Cologne and Munich. Since 2009 she has been developing workshops for children and young people. Her partners include the Photographische Sammlung / SK Stiftung Kultur with its "Die Photodetektive" programme and other institutions, sponsors and various schools.

SK Stiftung Kultur
The work of the SK Stiftung Kultur der Sparkasse KölnBonn is dedicated to artistic photography, dance, the Cologne language, as well as cultural education and mediation with a focus on children's and youth literature and reading promotion, media art and film.
The genre of media art includes artistic works that have been created using the new digital media such as computers, the Internet, digital cameras or mobile phones and apps. In its project work, the SK Stiftung Kultur works for and with young and older people in a dialogue between generations. With our mediation projects, participants are given the opportunity to develop from passive media users to critical recipients and active designers according to the motto: seeing, understanding and creating.

KJF
The KJF is a federal centre for cultural media education and film culture and promotes the active, creative and critical media work of children and young people. Its activities focus on film education programmes and the organisation of federal competitions for multimedia, film and photography. This also includes the German Youth Photo Prize. The KJF was founded in 1977. It is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. The projects, award ceremonies, festivals, conferences and exhibitions are usually organised in cooperation with other partners, institutions and organisations. The KJF is also supported by the responsible state ministries. For example, the Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia supports the prizewinners' forum of the German Youth Photo Prize. Among its long-standing supporters are the Photoindustrie-Verband and photokina.

Jfc Medienzentrum/ Kamerakinder
The jfc Medienzentrum is a specialist centre for children and youth media work in Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded in 1976 as Jugendfilmclub (jfc), we offer educational activities, consulting, qualification and services in the intersection of media, culture and education. In an increasingly digitalized world, jfc promotes the critical-creative use of media as well as the personal development of children and young people and their active, creative participation through and in the media. jfc is the sponsor of KAMERAKINDER, a state-wide photo project sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia with a portal for children and photo educators, a network of photo educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia, advanced training courses oriented to current trends and photo events for young people aged 6 - 16.

Girlspace
The girlspace exists for 20 years as a media educational institution especially for girls and young women in Cologne. Regular group offers, workshops, action days and holiday programs with the media focus on photo, video, audio and Web 2.0 are offered.
The basic aim of the work is to teach the participants of the offers a creative, reflected and self-controlled handling of digital media.

Art Meets Education (AME) is a non-profit organization that provides education through photography. AME offers children from disadvantaged families in the Philippines the opportunity to finance their schooling through photography.

Museumsdienst Köln
The Museumsdienst Köln is the central museum education service for the nine municipal museums in Cologne. It develops educational projects and programmes for school classes and adult groups, offers courses for creative people and events for the curious. There are programmes for people with disabilities, in different languages and for different cultures of origin. In addition, it produces texts for exhibition visits, invents join-in rallies on specific topics, and designs audio tours and multimedia stations. It cooperates with various educational institutions and does everything in its power to ensure that the encounter with art and culture is a positive and at best sustainable experience for all visitors.

In four editions from 2015-2018 young people from Mülheim were called upon to record their view of Mülheim as home and place of their youth. For this they worked in workshops at their schools and youth centres. In appreciative presentations of their photographic works through exhibitions and catalogues, youth, their way of life and culture should be positively brought to public attention!
